Before version 5, advanced properties were only accessible to administrators.  With ePigeon Instant Messaging 5, all users have access to all properties permitted by the applicable policies.

MessageProperties

Delivery

The former “Lifetime” property has been replaced by the “Delivery” property.  This property determines how a message is processed upon receipt by the ePigeon Client.

Delivery

Description

Immediate

The message will be displayed by all the intended clients connected to the ePigeon Server at the time of sending the message.

Next logon

The message will be displayed by all the intended clients when they next log-on to the system, when the ePigeon Client will be started up.

Certified

The message will be displayed by all the intended clients connected to the ePigeon Server at the time of sending the message.  For other intended clients, the message will be displayed when they next log-on to the system, when the ePigeon Client will be started up.

Scheduled

The message will be displayed on the date and at the time stated in the “Run” field for the intended users if connected to the ePigeon Server at that time.  Intended users who are not connected at the designated time will see the message when they next log-in to the system, unless “Exact time” has been selected.  If the “Exact time” option has been selected, only users connected at the exact time stated in the Run field will receive the message.

May reply

This property indicates that the recipients may reply to the message in question.  In this case, users will have access to a contextual “Reply” menu, which will automatically open a message-editing window (with limited properties), where the recipient field will be automatically assigned to the person who created the original message.  The text of the message shall also be displayed in this window for reference purposes.  Replies are displayed in a scrolling banner, with black text on a beige background.

Receipt requested

This property indicates that an acknowledgement of receipt will be returned to the person who wrote the original message.  This receipt will confirm that the recipient has read the message, giving their name and the date of reading the message.
